You don’t need a head start.

I came to investing the long way round, with no finance background and no head start.

I started out in music, then worked my way up the corporate ladder, spending years frustrated by how much of my income disappeared in tax. Reading Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki in my early thirties changed how I thought about money for good, and I set about teaching myself to invest. I bought my first share in 2014 and got serious about it in 2017, with £5,000 and a lot of reading.

I am a mid to long-term investor, not a trader. I keep things simple and let time and discipline do the work. I am not a financial adviser, I am not regulated, and I never worked in the City. Nothing I write is personal advice, just the honest guide I wish I had had at the start.

The name, The ISA Millionaire, describes a destination this approach can lead an ordinary, disciplined investor towards over many years. It is what becomes possible when you give a sensible plan enough time.

The book.

The ISA Millionaire: The Way In, is available now, and sets the whole journey out in order. It is the first of more to come.

If you can’t wait to get stuck in, there are lots of articles here on ISA Basics, Investing Principles and Building Wealth.

I will always be straight with you. Investing carries real risk, the value of investments can fall as well as rise, and anyone promising guaranteed returns is not being honest.

I hope you enjoy your journey to financial freedom.
